Up and coming

Relieved to finally get this thing up and running, or should I say barely standing.  Lets just get to it shall we?

Whats going on in the next month:

  • Classes start at UofL the 24th
  • Welcoming week with tons of on campus events, The BCM will be hosting Nerd Prom
  • Weekly Tuesday Night worship fires up
  • Bible studies begin
  • Dollar lunch on Thursdays
  • English as a second language(ESL)

As you can see there is a lot going down on campus at U of L. With the immense amount of activities there, I too have plenty going on at my campus. In the birth of the semester the BCM hopes to engage and reach to the community with Nerd Prom as our welcoming week event. A fun themed post-secondary prom. I can assure you the dances and song will be clean and wholesome. We will not get naked and carried away as David was, hahaha.

We (John the BCM director and other CMI’s) will being preaching through the “I AM” statements in the Gospel of John.  Hopefully, coupled with our first week of worship the campus has asked the BCM to have a evangelical service for students wanting to attend their first weekend in town.  THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE COLLEGE HAS EVER ASKED OF THAT FROM THE BCM!!!  Pray the Lord would penetrate students’ hearts with truth of the Gospel.  Dollar lunch happens every Thursday at the BCM.  A church in the area partners with the BCM to provide a potluck type meal that only costs the students two dollars.  On Fridays, students from the BCM and international students from UofL will partner up on engaging the international students by aiding and teaching them proper ways to speak our native language. (Great opportunity to meet students from other cultures and build relationships with them in hopes of sharing Christ.)

As for me, I will be strapped working multiple jobs and beginning my semester as well. I am excited for my classes to start.  Preaching 1, Greek 1, Intro to Biblical counseling, Intro to worship, and Theology 3 are all on the plate for this fall.

How can you pray?  Please be in prayer for the students at U of L and for me as I prepare and labor in the ministry.  Pray the Lord would begin now to work in their hearts for them to receive the gift of faith.  Pray for the believers at campus laboring in gospel efforts to remain confident and obedient in the great commision.  Pray for for the preparation of the sermons to be preached, Bible studies that will be led, and the ways in which we reach our community; showing love to our campus community because we were first shown love from Christ.  Thank you so for those who have been in prayer and for those that will continue to pray and/or support this ministry financially.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,  who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Soli Deo Gloria
